Itinerary
Monday
Depart Leyland at 08.30hrs for our journey to Bournemouth with a lunch stop in the quaint, bustling market town of Abingdon-on-Thames en-route, allowing time to explore and obtain lunch before continuing our journey to the hotel. Arrive to a warm welcome with tea/coffee on arrival while your case is taken to your room.
Tuesday
Today our excursion offers spectacular seaside views as we make our way to Poole Harbour to embark on a boat cruise around the eastern tip of the Jurassic coast to the Victorian Pier and traditional seaside resort of Swanage, spend some free time exploring its unique stores or grab a bite to eat before heading to the railway station to continue our scenic adventure, take a step back to 1885 as we board the award-winning Swanage Steam Railway for a return train journey, on our return to Poole by boat we travel once again along the magnificent chalk formations back into Poole Harbour.
Wednesday
Today we spend the morning at the hotel or perhaps have a wander and get better acquainted with our host town Bournemouth, perhaps take a stroll along the huge expanse of sandy beach or fine somewhere lovely for a relaxing lunch. In the afternoon we head to Poole to visit the magnificent ornamental gardens at Compton Acres, explore over 10 acres of themed gardens set out on a circular route, with a step free route available, there is much to admire and with a guided tour included you'll be introduced to many beautiful specimens of shrubs and plants. Following our guided tour there will be time to explore at leisure, perhaps visit the café, plant centre or shop before returning to the hotel.
Thursday
This morning, we venture into the New Forest to visit Beaulieu Museum where vintage vehicles are exhibited depicting the story of motoring in the UK and international motor racing, enjoy the Victorian splendour of the Palace House, the home of the Montagu family. Later in the afternoon before returning to the hotel we visit the picturesque Georgian port town of Lymington, once an ancient seaport, today it is better known as a major yachting centre with no less than 3 marinas, the lively town has plenty of obtains if you wish to obtain something to eat.
Friday
Check out of our hotel for the return journey home with a lunch stop in the elegant spa town of Royal Leamington Spa en-route, allowing you time to obtain lunch.
