A themed break based on the outskirts of Dublin, brings you an original look at the seaside, city & countryside, with a guided coastal railway journey and a scenic river cruise on the River Liffey. Also included are visits to Powerscourt House & Gardens and Avoca Handweavers

 

ITINERARY

 

SUNDAY

Depart Leyland at 0830 for the journey to Holyhead and the 1350hrs ferry to Dublin. Continue to Stillorgan for our 4 night stay at the 4 Star Talbot Hotel.

 

MONDAY

All aboard the D.A.R.T. for a train trip along the beautiful coastline between Bray and Dublin, where a qualified guide will tell the fascinating history of Irelandûs first railway. Heading on through the heart of Dublin, the journey finishes at Malahide, a popular seaside resort with a fine castle,Return to hotel by coach.

 

TUESDAY

What better way to see the sights of Dublin than from a scenic cruise on the timeless River Liffey with an informative commentary that reveals the past and present of this vibrant city. Free time this afternoon to explore Dublin for yourself, from the landmarks, galleries and museums, to the buskers and bustle of Temple Bar.

 

WEDNESDAY

Our day begins with a visit to Powerscourt House & Gardens. This glorious estate with its international styles and mountain views is considered one of the worldûs greatest gardens. Continue to Avoca, (location of TV series Ballykissangel) for a visit to Avoca Handweavers, the oldest working Woollen Mill in Ireland and one of the worldûs oldest manufacturing companies. Later return to the hotel via the east coast.

 

THURSDAY

Depart hotel after breakfast and travel into Dublin for sightseeing. Later transfer to Stena line 14-50 ferry to Holyhead on arrival continue your return journey to Leyland
