Itinerary
Monday
Depart Leyland at 09.00hrs for our journey to the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, Edinburgh Queensferry Crossing. With a suitable lunch stop en-route, arrive at the hotel to welcome tea/coffee on arrival while your luggage is taken to your room.
Tuesday
This morning's excursion takes us to visit the magnificent Kelpies, marvel at the largest equine structures in the world standing at 100ft tall. Followed by the rest of the morning free in Falkirk, allowing time to explore and obtain lunch before our afternoon journey on the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway. Enjoy a scenic 10-mile return train journey to Manuel along the Forth Estuary, through woodland, past waterfalls and over the Avon Viaduct.
Wednesday
Following breakfast this morning we make the journey to the city of Edinburgh. The day is free to explore the capital city of Scotland at your own pace. The city's skyline is dominated by the magnificent Edinburgh Castle, perhaps visit the ancient castle built on a volcanic crag, one of the most visited attractions in Scotland, other attractions worth a visit are the gardens on Princes Street, The Old Town see if you can find the statue of Greyfriars Bobby, the Royal Mile, Holyrood House and much more.
Thursday
Following breakfast today's excursion takes us north to the city of Perth where the morning is free to explore and obtain lunch. In the afternoon we travel the short distance to Scone Palace, discover an exciting and colourful history in one of Scotland's most important stately homes. It has long been the seat of parliaments and the crowning place of Scottish Kings including Macbeth and Robert the Bruce. The palace houses an outstanding collection of antiques, paintings and rare artefacts and the magnificent grounds are renowned throughout the world.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast for the return journey home with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
