Itinerary:
Monday
Depart Leyland at 09.30hrs for our journey to Sedgebrook Manor with a lunch stop in historic Uttoxeter en-route. Depart at 13.30hrs to continue our journey to the hotel where you'll receive a warm welcome while your case is taken to your room. Perhaps take a stroll in the grounds or make use of the leisure facilities before dinner this evening.
Tuesday
This morning we head to the Althorp Estate to visit the house and grounds of the Spencer family, the childhood home of Princess Diana with a chance to pay your respects. Mid afternoon we visit Towcester, one of the oldest continuously inhabited settlements in England dating back to the Roman town of Lactodurum.
Wednesday
Today's excursion takes us on a journey of discovery to the once top-secret home of World-War II Codebreakers. Uncover the lives of the brave men and women of Bletchley Park whose work significantly shortened the war, the birthplace of modern computing, and a place of exceptional historic importance. Thursday
Today's excursion takes us to Castle Ashby Gardens, ancestral home to the 7th Marquess of Northampton. Enjoy 35-acres of historic gardens in the heart of Northamptonshire's countryside. Wander through several styles of gardens, including the romantic Italian and Butterfly Gardens. Castle Ashby includes many unique areas to explore including a magnificent Grade II Orangery, a Grade II Fuchsia House and a Menagerie with a variety of animals for you to see. The tea-rooms are an ideal spot for you to enjoy lunch, perhaps combine with a stop at the rural shopping yard or there are picnic tables in the Italian Garden and the Arboretum. Return to the hotel mid afternoon with time to relax and perhaps use the leisure facilities before dinner.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast, before heading home we visit Stamford, a bustling, prosperous, historic market town with quaint streets offering delicious food options at every corner and no less than 600 listed buildings. Depart at 13.00hrs to continue our journey home.
