Itinerary
Sunday
Depart Leyland at 11.00hrs for our journey to Holyhead to board the 14.45hrs sailing to Dublin, as we have no evening meal at the hotel tonight, we have provided a meal voucher onboard the ferry consisting of a main course, dessert, tea/coffee. Disembark and re-join the coach as we continue our journey to Enniscorthy, arriving at the Riverside Park Hotel to welcome tea/coffee while your case is taken to your room.
Monday
Begin the day in New Ross and a guided tour of the 1840s Dunbrody Famine Ship and its insight and interpretation of the Irish emigrant experience. From here, to the Hook Peninsula to see the world's oldest operational lighthouse with stunning views from the Hook headland. Perhaps you will be lucky enough to see dolphins or the village of Crooke on the other side of the bay. Johnstown Castle is our next destination, where we include a tour of the Gothic-Revival Castle. Before departing, explore the Irish Agricultural Museum, lake walks and ornamental gardens.
Tuesday
Today begins in Waterford, Ireland's oldest city, and a tour at the House of Waterford Crystal, where glowing balls of molten crystal are blown in front of your eyes. Venture on to the coastal town of Dungarvan, before heading along 'The Copper Coast' and time at leisure in the seaside resort of Tramore.
Wednesday
Today, we make the short drive to Huntingdon Castle and Gardens. Built in 1625 and still in the same family ownership enjoy a guided tour with a family member who will reveal tales of this beautiful castle and gardens. Following our visit continue our journey along the Mount Leinster Heritage Trail, through Fenagh and Bagenalstown, to Kilkenny where we enjoy time at leisure in the medieval city watched over by its famous landmark the 12th century Kilkenny Castle before returning to the hotel.
Thursday
This morning a continental breakfast will be provided between 05.30 - 6.00hrs as we have an early departure from the hotel, travel the short distance to Rosslare to board the 08.15hrs ferry to Fishguard in South Wales, as there is only continental breakfast provided at the hotel this morning, we have included a breakfast voucher onboard the ferry for a cooked breakfast with tea/coffee. Disembark and re-join the coach in Fishguard to continue our journey home with a suitable meal stop en-route.
