Head inland to Birr Castle Gardens and Science Centre, a living testament to Ireland’s cultural and scientific heritage, set in the historic town of Birr.

Itinerary:
Sunday
Depart Leyland at 11.00hrs for our journey to Holyhead to board the afternoon ferry to Dublin. Re-join the coach in Dublin to continue our journey to The Hamlet Court Hotel, arrive to a warm Irish welcome with tea/coffee while your case is taken to your room.
Monday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast, join the coach at 10.30hrs to continue our journey across Ireland with a lunch stop in Athlone en-route, depart Athlone at 14.00hrs to continue our journey to the Lough Rea Hotel and Spa our lakeside home for the next 4 nights. Arrive to a warm Irish welcome while your case is taken to your room.
Tuesday - Thursday
Time at leisure at the resort with the following excursions:
Morning excursion to Galway City, one of the brightest and most intriguing jewels of the west of Ireland, a city full of culture, artistry, exceptional food and music. In the afternoon we take a 90-minute cruise to journey along the River Corrib once travelled by Viking invaders and Victorian Steamboats. Hear about Galway's ancient past, Celtic mythology and feuding families while passing castles along the way before sailing into beautiful Lough Corrib, Ireland's largest lake with the spectacular Connemara Mountains to the west. With free time in the city afterwards if time allows.
Morning excursion to award-winning Birr Gardens and Science Centre set in 120 acres of woodlands and beautiful gardens in the heritage town of Birr, featuring over 5,000 species of trees, plants and wildlife, wander scenic trails along rivers and waterfalls before visiting the Science Centre the legacy of the Parson's family spanning 400 years. Discover the Great Telescope, the Lunar Heat Machine and one of the world's oldest darkrooms. In the afternoon take a 1hr Shannon cruise with licensed bar and live commentary onboard. Sit back, relax and take in the natural beauty of the Shannon Waterway, view the many ruins from early Christianity at Clonmacnoise monastic site, explore and learn of violent and destructive episodes throughout its history on an included guided tour.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast, re-join the coach at 10.30hrs for our journey back to the Hamlet Court Hotel, with a lunch stop in Tullamore the county town of Offaly en-route, depart Tullamore at 14.30hrs to continue our journey to the Hamlet Court Hotel, arrive to a warm welcome with tea/coffee while your case is taken to your room.
Saturday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast to travel across Ireland to the capital enjoy a little free time in Dublin to obtain lunch before heading to the port for our return ferry. Re-join the coach in Holyhead to continue our journey home.
