Itinerary:
Monday
Depart Leyland at 08.30hrs for our journey to Lincolnshire with a lunch stop in the town that is home to Nora Batty, Compo and everything Last of the Summer Wine, with time to explore and obtain lunch, depart Holmfirth at 14.00hrs to continue our journey to Forest Pines, arrive to a warm welcome while your case is taken to your room.
Tuesday - Thursday
Leisure time at the resort with the following excursions:
This morning, we journey to the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds to visit bustling historic market town of Market Rasen, with today being market day enjoy time to explore. Wander the High Street home to over 50 independent shops and businesses, most of them long-standing and family run with high-quality and award-winning places to eat. Mid-afternoon return to the hotel for free time to relax or perhaps enjoy the grounds and leisure facilities.
Today we journey across the county border into East Yorkshire to visit the incredibly interesting, picturesque market town of Beverley. The historic town centre is complete with its own Minster where we take a guided tour of one of the largest parish churches in the UK, larger than 1/3 of all English cathedrals Beverley Minster is a beautiful Gothic masterpiece with free time to explore Beverley and obtain lunch. Return to the hotel mid-afternoon.
Morning visit to International Bomber Command Centre including a guided tour to discover WWII stories of the brave men and women who served or supported Bomber Command from over 60 nations across the world to protect the freedom we enjoy today. Includes access to the Lincolnshire and International Peace Gardens, the Memorial Spire and the Walls of Names, followed by free time in Lincoln to obtain lunch and explore the historic cathedral city.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following a leisurely breakfast departing at 10.30hrs for the return journey home with a lunch stop at the Mill Outlet and Garden Centre in Batley with time for lunch and to explore before departing at 14.30hrs to continue our journey home.
