During our stay journey to the Norfolk Broads to appreciate the area from the water on a leisurely boat trip from Wroxham on the Southern Comfort Paddle Steamer. Sit back, relax and take a nostalgic train journeys on the North Norfolk and Bure Valley Railways to enjoy wonderful coast and countryside views. Itinerary:
Monday
Depart Leyland at 08.00hrs for our journey to Norwich with a suitable lunch stop en-route. Arrive at the hotel to a warm welcome while your case is taken to your room.
Tuesday
This morning, we journey to England's premier lavender farm, Norfolk Lavender, renowned worldwide with nearly 100 acres of lavender under cultivation. Discover the history, and the growing process while enjoying the vibrant, perfumed lavender on a self-led visit. Step into the distillery to see how they turn lavender into oil and stroll through the National Lavender Collection where many lavender varieties are displayed. In the afternoon we head to the coast to visit the historic port of Kings Lynn, with time to explore and obtain lunch.
Wednesday
Today we travel the short distance into Norwich enjoy time to explore the city at leisure. Take in the sights in this attraction packed city, perhaps enjoy some retail therapy and uncover one of the UK's oldest and most iconic open-air markets. With over 190 stalls trading or simply relax at a pavement café or historic inn and watch the world go by. Norwich Cathedral is well worth a visit as is the Instagram worth cobbled Elm Hill district of the city.
Thursday
Today we combine a nostalgic train ride with a paddle steamer cruise on the Norfolk Broads. We begin our journey in Aylsham where we join the Bure Valley Railway for a 9-mile ride to Wroxham. In Wroxham we join the boat for a circular cruise around the Norfolk Broads. We then travel through some of the delightful Broads villages, such at Woodbastwick, complete with miniature green and thatched cottages.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast for the return journey home with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
