Itinerary:
Friday
Depart Leyland at 08.00hrs for our journey to the 4-star Cheltenham Chase Hotel with a lunch stop at RAF Cosford en-route with time to explore and obtain lunch, depart Cosford at 13.30hrs as we continue the journey to the hotel where you'll receive a warm welcome while your case is taken to your room.
Saturday
Following breakfast make the short journey to the thriving historic city of Gloucester, take the opportunity to explore, obtain lunch and stock up on your picnic items and drink of choice to add to the packed lunch provided by the hotel for later today, the packed lunch will replace dinner at the hotel this evening. Depart Gloucester at 13.00hrs, returning to the hotel for time to relax and enjoy the leisure facilities before joining the coach at 15.30hrs, head to Blenheim Palace via the picturesque Cotswolds to enjoy an afternoon/evening of wonderful entertainment at the Battle of the Proms. Enjoy a picnic, wave you flag (provided) and get into the spirit as a wonderful Spitfire display accompanies opening pieces of the classical programme, sing along to 'Last Night at the Proms' favourites, experience an emotional Battle Symphony with cannon fire, enjoy wonderful firework displays, just some of the highlights of this wonderfully British party in the park.
Important Note: Please dress for the British weather, umbrella's/parasols are permitted but you must stand at the back or at the edge of the viewing area, the Proms ends at 22.30hrs so make sure you have a coat or something to keep away the chill. You are welcome to bring small coolers, sturdy folding chairs, picnic blankets etc on this holiday. Don't forget your cutlery for your picnic and glasses, corkscrews etc for your favourite tipple (knives that you take on site are restricted to domestic knives with blades 5inch and under, folding knives must not have a blade over 3 inches). There are water points on site to top up refillable containers with drinking water. Smoking and vaping are prohibited in the viewing area.
Sunday
Following a leisurely start join the coach at 11.00hrs for a scenic journey into the Cotswolds with a lunch stop in the quintessential English wool town of Stow-on the-Wold, the highest town in the Cotswolds, famous for its wonderful selection of inns, cosy cafes and antique shops with time to explore and obtain lunch followed by a visit to the beautiful village of Broadway, often referred to as the 'Jewel of the Cotswold's', Broadway offers its visitor a pretty High Street lined with chestnut trees and honey coloured stone cottages that could be straight off a chocolate box.
Monday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast for the return journey home with a lunch stop at the National Memorial Arboretum en-route, depart the NMA at 14.30hrs to continue our journey home.
