Join us as we head to the edge of the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley National Park for our Scenic Gems of North Wales and Snowdonia Tour.  This exciting holiday takes us on magnificent rail journeys through some of Wales’ best scenery with breathtaking views of Snowdonia and North Wales.  Visit Portmeirion the unique and quirky Italianate village, designed by William Ellis offering stunning views over Cardigan Bay.  Board a barge to glide gently over the Pontycysyllte Aqueduct, the country’s biggest navigable aqueduct described by UNESCO as ‘a masterpiece of creative genius’.

Itinerary:

Monday
Depart Leyland at 10.30hrs for our journey to the Beaufort Park Hotel with a lunch stop in Chester en-route. Depart Chester at 14.30hrs to continue our journey to the hotel. Arrive to a warm welcome with tea/coffee and biscuits while your case is taken to your room.

Tuesday - Thursday

Following breakfast our excursion takes us to Llanberis where we enjoy a journey on the Snowdon Mountain Railway. This world-famous little train takes us on a breathtaking ride to the top of Snowdon, at 3560ft (1085m) the highest mountain in England and Wales. The views are stunning and not to be missed. Return to the hotel through Snowdonia making a stop in the idyllic Victorian resort of Betws-y-Coed. Please note carriages may be steam or diesel hauled.

Today's excursion takes us on a journey to the unique Italianate village of Portmeirion, designed by architect William Ellis early in the 20th century. Enjoy views over Cardigan Bay from the stunning houses and pavilions that provide a stunning backdrop. Following our visit travel to Porthmadog to board a train on the Ffestiniog Railway for an exhilarating journey across the mountains to the slate town of Blaenau Ffestiniog. Please note carriages may be steam or diesel hauled.

Today we journey through lovely Welsh scenery, including the spectacular Horseshoe pass to the Dee Valley where we join the Rheilfford Llangollen Railway for a nostalgic rail journey to Llangollen (please note carriages may be steam or diesel hauled). Take a barge trip on the 'Stream in the Sky' on the Llangollen Canal, gliding gently along and over the country's biggest, navigable viaduct.

Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast for our journey home with a lunch stop in Oswestry, departing at 14.00hrs to continue our journey home.

Set in beautiful North Wales countryside The Beaufort Park is an independently run 3-star hotel situated just 5mins drive from the historic Welsh market town of Mold, where you will receive a warm and friendly welcome.  The Scandinavian style reception and mezzanine lounge provide an oasis of peace to relax, read or enjoy a drink. Guest bedrooms offer home from home comfort, designed to a very high standard with tasteful furnishings.
