Itinerary:
Saturday
Depart Leyland at 14.00hrs for our journey to Hull to board the overnight ferry to Rotterdam, enjoy dinner, entertainment and shopping onboard before retiring to your cabin.
Sunday
Arrive in Rotterdam rested and enjoy breakfast onboard before disembarking, re-join the coach to continue our journey to our overnight hotel on the French/German border. During our journey to France today we will have a lunch stop in historic Dinant in Belgium. Continue our journey to our overnight hotel in St Avold with time to relax before our evening meal.
Monday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast, before continuing our journey to Switzerland we visit the American Cemetery, the largest in Europe, just a five-minute walk from the hotel. Re-join the coach and continue our journey to Klosters with a suitable lunch stop en-route. Arrive at the Silvretta Parkhotel to a warm Swiss welcome with an arrival drink while your case is taken to your room.
Tuesday - Friday
Day at leisure in the resort (driver day off), the included Davos/Klosters Card provides free/discounted travel on local transport and admissions, perhaps take a journey on the Gotschna cable car, just a 5 minutes' walk from the hotel, taking you up to Parsenn, the area offers hiking and mountain biking trails with lovely places to enjoy a picnic and take in the breathtaking views or take the Rhaetian Railway to Dorf, Davos and Filisur. If you prefer to stay in Klosters, soak up the charming village atmosphere, enjoy a unique shopping experience, choose from a mix of traditional Swiss shops and boutiques along cobblestone streets with quaint storefronts, selling anything from handmade Swiss chocolates, beautiful Swiss watches and locally crafted souvenirs. With an exquisite range of mountain restaurants and high-end hotels to choose from, serving Alpine/European cuisine, Kloster's gastronomic scene caters for everyone's palate and pocket.
Today we board a scenic train from Klosters to Filisur where we board the magnificent Bernina Express for our journey through the Swiss/Italian Alps to Tirano in Italy. This panoramic train take you on a journey from glaciers to palm trees as is snakes its way through the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Rhaetian Railway, pass through tunnels and over bridges offering commanding views including the Montebello curve with a view of the Bernina Massif, the Morteratsch glacier, the three lakes Lej Pitschen, Lej Nair and Lago Bianco, the Alp Grüm and the Brusio Circular Viaduct. A beautiful journey of a lifetime. On arrival in Tirano, Northern Italy there will be a little time to stretch your legs in the village and have a coffee stop before joining the coach for the beautiful scenic journey by road back to Klosters.
Today we visit Chur, a charming historic town with cobbled streets, hidden courtyards and a magnificent cathedral, take time to explore and obtain lunch before returning to the hotel for leisure time.
Today's excursion takes us into the picturesque Principality of Liechtenstein, one of the smallest states in Europe to visit its capital Vaduz with time to explore and obtain lunch in the historic Old Town. Vaduz boasts charming streets, historical sites like Vaduz Castle and the Cathedral, museums, and beautiful mountain scenery. Return to the hotel mid-afternoon with time to relax before our last evening meal.
Saturday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast, bid goodbye to our Swiss hosts and beautiful Switzerland as we make our way back to our overnight hotel in France with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
Sunday
Check out of our overnight hotel to continue our journey to Rotterdam, with a suitable lunch stop en-route, continue to the port to board our overnight ferry back to Hull, enjoy dinner, entertainment and shopping onboard before retiring to your cabin.
Monday
Arrive in Hull rested and enjoy breakfast onboard before disembarking, re-join the coach to continue our journey home.
