Itinerary:
Monday
Depart Leyland at 09.00hrs for our journey to Somerset with a lunch stop in Worcester en-route. Depart Worcester at 14.00hrs to continue our journey to the Royal Grosvenor Hotel in Weston-Super-Mare.
Tuesday
Free day in the resort, relax at the hotel or wrap up warm and explore our host town.
Wednesday
Our excursion today takes us to Somerset's Mendips and England's smallest city. Visit the picturesque historic gem and medieval market city of Wells on market day. Perhaps visit the magnificent cathedral or Bishops Palace, relax and watch the world go by in one of the many cosy cafes, tearooms and country pubs, with independent shops and art galleries aplenty there is something for everyone. Depart Wells at 14.30hrs to return to the hotel with time to relax before dinner.
Thursday
Today our journey takes us to Cheddar on the edge of the Somerset Levels, home of the Cheddar Gorge, visitors to the village have been astounded by the magnificent limestone gorge for centuries. The iconic landscape isn't the only reason that Cheddar made its appearance on the map, Cheddar Cheese is world famous, and the traditional method of cheese making is still used today at the Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company, matured in Cheddar's Gough's Cave. Join us as we view the dairy's cheese making area and watch this famous cheese being made with a chance to sample and purchase the only Cheddar made in Cheddar, Somerset. Return to the hotel mid-afternoon for time at leisure.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast for the return journey home with a lunch stop in Lichfield, Staffs en-route. Depart Lichfield at 14.30hrs to continue our journey home.
