Our traditional flower laden hotel in scenic Achenkirk is perfectly based to cover these magnificent areas being located in the Achental Valley which extends to the northern shores of Lake Achensee, also known as the Fjord of the Tyrol. ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) is not currently operational. Introduction has been delayed and now looking to be operational during the 2nd quarter of 2025 (looking like May 2025), the only travel documents customers need if they are travelling to the EU before this time will be valid passport not more than 10 years old with at least 3 months remaining on the return date.
Cost of the ETIAS will be 7 euros and can be done online, customers will need an email address, there passport and a debit credit card to hand when they make their application, please allow at least 96 hrs before date of travel to apply, the ETIAS is valid for 3 years or until the passport renews whichever comes first.
For customers who are local Ava Travel will be able to assist and complete the ETIAS registration face to face, the cost will be £16.00 which will include the ETIAS registration and cover staff and admin costs.

Itinerary
Saturday
Depart Leyland at 06.30am for our journey to Dover with a suitable lunch stop en-route, board the 15.00hrs P&O ferry to Calais, enjoy a meal onboard, disembark and re-join the coach as we continue our journey through France to our overnight hotel in Amneville to check in and retire for the evening.
Sunday
Following breakfast check out of our overnight hotel as we continue our journey to Achenkirk in Austria with a suitable lunch stop en-route. Arrive to a warm Tyrolean welcome as your bags are taken to your room. This evening, we have a set 3-course dinner followed by a welcome schnaps.
Monday
Today we enjoy a day of leisure to explore the area and relax at the hotel. Make use of the included Achensee Hop-on Hop-off boat ticket to admire the lovely mountain and lake views. Perhaps go hiking or horse riding on one of the many trails or visit the Sixenhof Museum to learn of local history, just a short walk from the hotel. If you're feeling very energetic you could walk all around the lake, approx. 15miles.
Tuesday
Today's excursion takes us back to a bygone era as we experience a wonderful, scenic steam train journey, marvel at the peaks and jagged rocks of the magnificent panorama as we travel the 32km from Jenbach to the lovely resort of Mayrhofen. On arrival in the Tyrolean resort take time to explore and have lunch before re-joining the coach for the journey back to the hotel.
Wednesday
This mornings excursions takes us to the capital of the Tyrol, Innsbruck with time to explore and have lunch before re-tracing our steps for a visit to the magnificent fairytale Tratzberg Castle, journey to and from the castle through the castle forest on the little train, enjoy a guided tour to learn the history of the castle, first mentioned in documents dating from the 13th century, after falling into ruin it was loving re-built by the Fugger family and is now a classic example of 16th century Tyrolean castles.
Thursday
This morning's excursion takes us over the German border on a Bavarian voyage of discovery as the entire panorama of the Tegernesee Valley opens up to be discovered, an area of pretty villages, wooded hills and lush meadows. Fall in love with the blue/green shimmering lake of Lake Tegernesee, nestled in the very heart of the magnificent Bavarian Alps. Set sail with us on the lake, what could be more beautiful and peaceful. Take a round trip on one of the distinctive Tegernesee boats, sit back and relax on the deck as the sun shimmers on the deep waters, enjoy the picturesque views of the shoreline and beautiful mountain backdrop.
Friday
Following breakfast check out of our Tyrolean home and bid a fond farewell to our Austrian hosts as we begin our journey back to our overnight hotel in Metz, France with a suitable lunch stop en-route. Arrive to a welcome glass of juice while our bags are taken to our rooms. Tonight, we enjoy a 3-course set evening meal at the hotel.
Saturday
Check out of our overnight hotel following breakfast for our journey to Calais to board the 14.00hrs ferry back to Dover in the UK, with a suitable lunch stop en-route, disembark, and re-join the coach to continue our journey home with a suitable meal stop to enable you to obtain dinner en-route.
