The Ayrshire coastline has lots to offer with beautiful sandy beaches and breath-taking views over Ailsa Craig and the Isle of Arran. Troon is possibly best known for its golf courses, but the town also offers old seaside charm with independent shops, cafes and restaurants to please its visitors. If your feeling energetic take the Smugglers Trail that takes you over the hill to the romantic, historic Dundonald Castle. Our excursions take us on a journey through history with visits to Robert Adam’s clifftop masterpiece; Culzean Castle and magnificent 18th century stately home, Dumfries House with house tour included and entrance into the stunning Queen Elizabeth Walled Garden.

Depart Leyland at 09.00hrs for our journey to Troon with a suitable lunch stop en-route.

Free time at leisure in Troon to relax and explore with the following excursions:
Today's excursion takes us on a morning visit to Culzean Castle, the cliff-top masterpiece of Robert Adam's which rises above woods, beaches and secret follies in a glorious 260ha estate. The castle is filled to the turrets with treasures that tell the stories of the people who lived there. At 13.30hrs rejoin the coach as we head to the vibrant seaside town of Ayr where you'll have free time to explore.
Our morning excursion takes us to Dumfries House and Queen Elizabeth II Walled Garden. Explore the grandeur of 18th century Dumfries House, and its historic collection, home to the headquarters of the King's Foundation. Experience the beauty of the five-acre Walled Garden restored from a derelict area, opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 2014. Re-join the coach at 13.30hrs, this afternoon we visit historic Kilmarnock, the largest town and main shopping centre in East Ayrshire. Perhaps visit the indoor market, or explore the Dick Institute, a wonderful museum and art gallery housing a collection of contemporary and historic art, relax in a cosy café or take a stroll through Kay Park, a public park with a lake and beautiful gardens, the choice is yours.
