Journey over the border into Somerset to visit the remarkably preserved medieval village of Dunster famous for is 11th century castle and over 200 listed buildings including its iconic octagonal Yarn Market. Explore the RHS Gardens at Rosemoor, experience lush late-summer colours, magnificent plant displays, and summer borders bursting with late-blooming perennials with a visit to the pretty maritime village of Appledore.

Depart Leyland at 08.30hrs for our journey to Ilfracombe in North Devon with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
Sunday - Tuesday
Day of leisure in Ilfracombe with the following excursions:
Journey through Exmoor National Park with a stop in the picturesque seaside village of Lynmouth with time to explore and obtain lunch, perhaps take the water-powered cliff railway, one of the most eco-friendly tourist attractions in the world, to its sister clifftop town Lynton to enjoy Atlantic views, continue our scenic journey into Somerset to visit the medieval village of Dunster.
Morning visit to RHS Rosemoor with time to explore and obtain lunch, on our return to the hotel visit Appledore on the joining point of the River Taw and River Torridge, the picturesque village has a busting quayside, brightly painted pastel-coloured cottages and rich shipbuilding heritage. Perhaps indulge in a local Hocking's ice-cream or visit local art galleries in the maze of narrow winding streets.

Check out of our hotel following breakfast for the return journey home with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
