Sidmouth is considered the premier floral seaside town in Devon, particularly in August when its gardens are in full, vibrant bloom, frequently winning accolades for it’s floral displays making its streets and town gardens a major highlight to be enjoyed in your free time. Our included excursions allow you to take a leisurely River Exe Cruise with Stuart Line in Exmouth, explore 300 years of gardening history on a visit to Bicton Park Botanical Gardens and take a scenic heritage, narrow-gauge tram journey in Seaton with excellent wildlife spotting as you journey along the River Axe Estuary through two nature reserves.

Depart Leyland at 08.00hrs for our journey to Sidmouth in Devon with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
Monday - Wednesday
Free day in our resort Sidmouth with the following excursions:
This morning we journey to Exmouth to board a River Exe Cruise to discover the beauty and history of the calm, sheltered waters of the River Exe with Stuart Line. The Estuary is home to a magnificent variety of wildlife and stunning Devon scenery. Following our cruise, we head slightly inland to Bicton Park Botanical Gardens, magnificent home to many rare and endangered plants with worldwide origins and one of the finest tree collections in Britain. Wander the vibrant, fully bloomed Italian Garden, Rose Garden and the stunning, historic Palm House, perhaps take a journey on the Bicton Woodland Railway for views of the 64-acre park (please note the railway cannot be pre-booked and isn't included in our admission).
Today we head along the Jurassic Coast to Seaton to take a return journey on the Seaton Narrow-Gauge Railway, journey through unspoilt East Devon countryside along the beautiful Axe Valley, taking you through two nature reserves with unrivalled views of abundant wading bird life. Make a stop in Colyton, described as 'Devon's most Rebellious Town' for its part in the Monmouth Rebellion of 1685 before our return tram journey to Seaton.
