Itinerary:
Monday
Depart Leyland at 08.00hrs for our journey to Ashford Kent with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
Tuesday
Today we head for the Historic Dockyard Chatham, an 80-acre site that was home to Britain's naval ship building industry. During your visit you'll discover how ships, including Nelson's flagship 'HMS Victory' were designed and built and you'll be able to climb aboard a destroyer and a submarine, with a guided coach tour of the site included. The highlight of the visit will be the 'Call the Midwife' tour that reveals what it was like to be an extra on the set of the popular BBC series, discover how the Dockyard was transformed into a scene from the 1950s on this great day out.
Wednesday
Today we travel to Canterbury where you may wish to visit the magnificent cathedral and explore the picturesque streets including time to obtain lunch. Depart Canterbury @ 15.00hrs to return to the hotel for time at leisure to enjoy the leisure facilities.
Thursday
This morning, we visit the traditional coastal town of Margate and the 'Old Town', with its many vintage shops. Perhaps call in at the free-to-enter Dreamland and take a ride on the stylishly restored, recreated and retrofitted rides and amusements from the golden age of British seaside holidays. In the afternoon drive along the coast to Whitstable, enjoy this seaside town of traditional charm, famous for its oysters, rich maritime history and a strong arts culture.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast for the return journey home with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
