Visit magnificent Grade 1 listed Highcliffe Castle to uncover 200 years of captivating history with free time in the Saxon town of Christchurch offering glistening sands on one side and the verdant vistas of the New Forest on the other.

Itinerary:
Monday
Depart Leyland at 09.00hrs for our journey to Bournemouth with a suitable lunch stop en-route, arrive at the Marsham Court Hotel to a warm south west welcome with tea/coffee while your case is taken to your room.
Tuesday-Thursday
Free day in Bournemouth with the following excursions:
Today's scenic journey takes us on the short crossing from Poole to Shell Bay by Sandbanks Ferry, from here travel to the charming Victorian seaside resort of Swanage enjoy free time to explore the town that offers breathtaking views and rich history. Following time to obtain lunch we head to the station to board a train on the heritage Swanage Railway, this beautifully restored railway follows the historic route of the old Purbeck Line where we alight at the chocolate-box village of Corfe Castle with an outstanding backdrop of the castle ruins. Following free time to explore board the train back to Swanage with a return on the Sandbanks Ferry to continue our journey back to Bournemouth.
Today we visit the historic town Christchurch, a perfect mix of countryside, seaside and harbour all rolled into one. The historic Priory Church and castle ruins give the town a romantic, olde world charm, with a wide range of independent shops, High Street stores, and great eating establishments offering anything from a simple ice cream by the sea to gourmet delights overlooking the harbour, Christchurch has something to offer everyone, allowing time to explore and obtain lunch. In the afternoon visit Highcliffe Castle, one of the most important surviving houses of the Romantic and Picturesque style of architecture which flourished at the end of the 18th and beginning of the 19th centuries. Marvel at ancient, recently restored stained glass windows, take a stroll through beautiful 'Capability' Brown inspired garden.
