Monday
Depart Leyland at 08.00hrs for our journey to Eastbourne with a suitable lunch stop en-route. Arrive to a warm welcome with tea/coffee while your case is taken to your room.
Tuesday - Thursday
Today we journey into the South Downs National Park, the newest of the UK's 15 National Parks, an area of rolling hills, glorious heathland, river valleys, ancient woodland, thriving villages and market towns, and the iconic white cliffs of the Heritage Coast. Visit Afriston the picturesque village surrounded by the Wealdon South Downs, perhaps visit St Andrews Church known as the 'Cathedral of the South Downs', The Clergy House or a wide range of Galleries, pubs and shops. Continue our journey to Lewes, the county town of East Sussex with a history dating to Saxon times. Wander the many antique, independent and quirky shops, also an ideal place to stop to allow you time for a bite to eat, choose from a range of historic pubs, On Tuesdays you might be lucky enough to see Harvey's dray horses delivering the beer, perhaps visit Anne of Cleeves House, the castle and museum, Southover Grange Gardens or the Priory of St Pancras in Priory Park. During today we will also enjoy the magnificent views from Beachy Head before returning to the hotel.

Today we visit Michelham Priory and Gardens set on its own moated island in the Cuckmere Valley, a wonderful ancient house formed from an Augustine Priory with the longest medieval moat and a rich history spanning over 800 years. Glimpse different eras on your visit including a Victorian kitchen and a WWII evacuee's bedroom. Wander 7 acres of stunning gardens adorned with seasonal blooms, sculptures and more. Today also includes free time in Eastbourne.
