Explore historic Hereford, tucked against the Welsh border with a visit to the Hereford Cider Museum, perhaps stock up on some tasty ciders or perries for the festive season.

Itinerary:
Monday (Christmas Eve)
Depart from Leyland at 8.00am for our journey to Coleford with a lunch stop in Worcester en-route, re-join the coach at 14.00hrs to continue our journey to the hotel. On arrival receive a warm meet and greet with welcome mulled wine and mince pie while your case is taken to your room. Tonight, a sumptuous dinner will be served in the Raglan Suite.
Tuesday (Christmas Day)
Today's excursion takes us to Gloucester, included is a visit to Gloucester Cathedral with guided tour, the magnificent cathedral dates to 1089 and is one of the most beautiful in England, parts may seem familiar having been used as backdrops for popular productions Harry Potter and Mary Queen of Scots. Following our visit there will be free time, perhaps explore Gloucester docks, the most inland port in the UK with 15 Victorian Warehouses, all now listed buildings, a great area for museums, food, drink and retail opportunities or discover the history and heritage of Gloucester, allowing time to explore and obtain lunch. Whatever your interests, Gloucester's varied offering will keep you busy. Re-join the coach at 15.00hrs. Tonight enjoy a traditional Christmas dinner followed by entertainment and a visit from Santa.
Wednesday (Boxing Day)
Today's excursion takes us to Hereford, enjoy a morning visit with time to explore and obtain lunch, perhaps visit the Cathedral and Mappa Mundi Museum or wander picturesque Church Street filled with boutiques and eateries. In the afternoon we have an included visit to Hereford Cider Museum, explore and experience the original cider factory and champagne cider cellars, listening to oral history recordings and other interactives along the way. The Cider Shop stocks gifts and over 150 craft ciders and perries and has one of the very best ranges in the county with top-quality craft ciders you won't find in supermarkets. There's a cider for everyone and top-quality apple juice too. Small samples of dry, sweet and medium cider or perry and apple juice are available for visitors. Perhaps pop into the tearooms to try some homemade cake. Tonight will be entertainment following dinner.
Thursday (New Years Eve)
Following a leisurely start from the hotel take a scenic drive through the Forest of Dean following the Royal Forest Route with a stop at Beechenhurst Visitor Centre or Taurus Crafts. For those wishing to visit Coleford there will be an opportunity on the way back, giving you a chance to explore our host town before making your own way back to the hotel on foot, just over a 5-minute walk away. If you wish to remain on the Coach the rest of the afternoon can be spent at leisure at the hotel. Tonight enjoy a glass of Bucks Fizz before dinner, don your glad rags and dancing shoes for an enjoyable evening of entertainment and Auld Lang Syne.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast for the return journey home with a lunch stop in historic Shrewsbury en-route. Depart Shrewsbury at 14.00hrs to continue our journey home.

| About the hotel | The Bells Hotel and Country Club is situated in the unspoilt Royal Forest of Dean in the picturesque market town of Coleford. Guest bedrooms are individually designed and comfortable for a good night’s rest. There is no lift at this hotel however they do have 35 bedrooms on the ground floor (on request and subject to availability). The bedroom block along with the hair salon and beauty treatment rooms is approx. a 25 yard outside walk from the clubhouse, which is home to bar, lounge and restaurant. The hotel offers treatments and there is a hairdressing salon (these must be booked and paid for locally by the customer). |
