Itinerary:
Monday
Depart Leyland at 08.00am for our journey to Cairnryan in Scotland to board our Stena Line ferry to Belfast with a suitable lunch stop en-route. Re-join our coach in Belfast to continue our journey to Coleraine and our hotel for the next four nights. Arrive to a warm Northern Irish welcome with tea/coffee while your case is taken to your room.
Tuesday
This morning, we take a scenic journey to Derry where we join our knowledgeable guide for a guided walking tour around the 17th century city walls, learn about St Columbs Cathedral and historic Guildhall with a commentary covering the city's origins, the Troubles and more recently TV fame with the Derry Girls. Followed by an afternoon of free time to relax and explore Derry at leisure.
Wednesday
This morning, we head inland to the village of Bushmills for a guided tour at Bushmills Distillery, the world's oldest licensed whiskey distillery. In the afternoon travel along the scenic Causeway Coast to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Giant's Causeway with a visit to the award-winning visitor centre. Next you can walk or take a bus down to the coastal path and the 40,000 interlocking hexagonal columns, some up to 12m high. (additional charge paid locally for the shuttle).
Important note: please be advised that the guided tour at Bushmills Distillery is not suitable for people with mobility issues, there are around 150 steps to navigate throughout the tour. Shuttle bus to the stones at the Giants Causeway is £1.00, this cannot be pre-booked and is payable locally on the day (not included as you may prefer the scenic walk) there are 3 shuttles per hour.
Thursday
This morning following a relaxing start we head to the edge of the Antrim Coast and Glens Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to visit the Walled Gardens and Woodland Walk, Heritage Centre and Museum at Glenarm Castle. Spring is a great time to visit with an array of bulbs and blossoms adorning the stunning garden that dates to its origins in the 1820's. Stretch your legs on the charming Woodland Walk and discover a rollercoaster story of the Earls of Antrim filled with adventure and intrigue in the Heritage Centre and museum. Journey back to the hotel along the wild and scenic Antrim Causeway coastal route via Ballycastle.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast as we head to Belfast Port and bid farewell to Northern Ireland, travel by Stena Line ferry from Belfast to Cairnryan in Scotland, when we arrive in Cairnryan, re-join the coach for our journey home with a suitable meal stop en-route.
