Itinerary
Friday
Depart Leyland at 14.00hrs for our journey to Hull to board the evening overnight ferry to Rotterdam, enjoy an evening meal onboard before retiring to your cabin for the night to wake up refreshed in Rotterdam. N.B - we suggest that you pack an overnight bag with essentials including medication you might need for the crossing and the overnight hotel in Germany as access to the coach and vehicle deck throughout the crossing will be strictly prohibited.
Saturday
Following breakfast en-board the ferry, disembark and re-join the coach in Rotterdam as we continue our journey to our overnight hotel in Germany, with a suitable lunch atop en-route. This evening will be a chef's choice 3-course meal at the hotel.
Sunday
Check out of our overnight hotel following breakfast to continue our journey to Austria, enjoying the magnificent Alpine views along the way with a suitable lunch stop en-route. Arrive at the hotel to a warm Austrian welcome and drink while your luggage is taken to your room. Tonight enjoys dinner at the hotel.
Monday
Today's excursions take us to Europe's oldest cog railway as we embark on a journey on the Achenseebahn which is still steam operated. Puffing through the steeper sections it rises to 16% gradient from Jenbach to Seespitz. From here re-join the coach for the short journey to the resort town of Pertisau, enjoy time at leisure before relaxing on a one-way cruise from Pertisau to the northern shores of beautiful Lake Achen in Scholastika, re-join the coach for the return to the hotel. A packed lunch will be provided by the hotel to enjoy on your journey today.
Tuesday
Today we enjoy an amazing journey to the top of Germany's highest mountain, the majestic Zugspitze, which sits at 2,962 meters above sea level with the German Austrian-German border running through its western summit. We start our assent from the Austian side vis the stunning cable car journey from Ehrwald, soaking in some of the most dramatic views you will ever see along the way. Spend some time at the summit, crossing into Germany, with time to admire the views of 400 mountain peaks spanning 4 countries, visible on clear days from the café and terraces. We then descend the German side of the mountain by cable car before a cogwheel train transports us to the picturesque Bavarian town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen where we enjoy time at leisure before re-joining the coach back to the hotel.
A packed lunch will be provided by the hotel to enjoy on your journey today.
Wednesday
Today is a day of leisure in the resort, relax and make the most of the hotel's leisure facilities, perhaps embark on a scenic cable car ride up the mountain or catch the bus from outside the hotel to the Tyrolean capital Innsbruck. Lunch is provided for those staying in resort today if you're heading out a packed lunch can be provided.
Thursday
Following a leisurely breakfast join the coach for the short journey into Innsbruck, the Tyrolean capital city, surrounded by the jagged rock spires of the Nordkette mountain range. Perhaps join a Hop-on Hop-Off bus tour or take a horse and carriage ride through the streets of the Old Town to discover some of the most important sights, including the Hofgarten, the ornate 15th century Golden Roof designed as a royal box for the Emperor, the Column of St Anne, and the Triumphal Arch. Allowing time to explore and have lunch, returning to the hotel mid-afternoon. A packed lunch will be provided by the hotel to enjoy on your journey today.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast to bid farewell to our Austrian hosts and this beautiful area of Austria, begin our scenic journey back to our overnight hotel in Germany with a suitable lunch stop en-route. Tonight, we enjoy a chef's choice 3-course dinner.
N.B - we suggest that you pack an overnight bag with essentials including medication you might need for the overnight hotel in Germany and the ferry crossing as access to the coach and vehicle deck throughout the crossing will be strictly prohibited.
Saturday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast, commence our journey to Rotterdam with a suitable lunch stop en-route, board the evening overnight ferry back to Hull in the UK. Enjoy an evening meal onboard before retiring to your cabin, waking up refreshed in the UK.

Sunday
Following breakfast onboard the ferry, disembark and re-join the coach in Hull to continue the last leg of our journey home.
