Itinerary:
Monday
Depart Leyland at 08.00hrs for our journey to Hampshire with a suitable lunch stop en-route. Arrive to a warm welcome while your case is taken to your room.
Tuesday - Thursday
Free time in the resort with the following attractions (days may change due to availability of the attraction).
Morning visit to historic Winchester, a cathedral city steeped in history. Winchester is England's ancient capital and former seat of King Alfred the Great now offering world-class attractions and magnificent architecture. Perhaps visit the beautiful cathedral to discover 1,000 years of history, relax at one of the award-winning pubs and restaurants or shop from a wonderful selection of independent shops, allowing time to explore and obtain lunch. Depart Winchester at 14.00hr, return to the hotel with time to relax and use the facilities before our evening meal.
Morning visit to Arlesford with a little time to explore before taking a journey on the Watercress Line between Arlesford and Alton. Experience the thrills of the heritage railway as it trundles through the scenic Hampshire countryside to the thriving market town of Alton with time to explore before re-joining the coach.
Morning visit to The Vyne, discover the former Tudor powerhouse turned 17th-century family home, set in gardens, woodlands and wetlands nestled in the Hampshire countryside in the Parish of Sherborne St. John. Explore opulent state rooms and humble servant's quarters, pre-Reformation chapel with wonderful stained-glass windows, Tudor Oak Gallery and Neo-Classical staircase. Wander Lime Avenue leading to a 17th-century summerhouse and 600 year old oak tree, beautiful walled garden and orchard with lakeside path enjoying views of the house. Accessed via the gardens is a sprawling ancient woodland and bird hide overlooking the wetland. Return to the hotel mid-afternoon to allow time to relax and use the leisure facilities before our evening meal.
Friday
Depart the hotel following breakfast for the return journey home with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
