Itinerary:
Monday
Depart Leyland at 10.00hrs for our journey North to Scotland with a suitable lunch stop en-route. Arrive at the Radstone Hotel to a warm Scottish welcome while your case is taken to your room.
Tuesday
Full day excursion to the Isle of Bute sailing from Wemyss Bay to Rothesay on Bute. Take a scenic tour of the island allowing time for photo stops at the stunning bays of Scalpsie and Ettrick, includes a stop at Mount Stuart, an outstanding and flamboyant Victorian, Gothic style mansion with beautiful gardens within a 300-acre estate.
Wednesday
This morning enjoy a sail across the Clyde to Dunoon on the Cowal Peninsula. Visit Benmore Botanic Garden dramatically set in the mountains of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Highlights include the great Redwood Avenue, the Formal Garden and the Chilean Rainforest Glade. Continue via Loch Eck and Loch Fyne to the shores of Loch Lomond with a stop in the picturesque conservation village of Luss.
Thursday
Travel to Falkirk this morning for a fascinating ride on the Falkirk Wheel. Built to commemorate the Millennium and as a link between the Forth and Clyde Canal and the Union Canal which lies 35 metres above. After the boat ride, learn about the project at the visitor centre. Continue to South Queensferry to board the Forth Belle for a sightseeing cruise on the Firth of Forth. Enjoy unrivalled views of Inchcolm Island with its historic abbey and both Forth bridges whilst listening to a guided commentary.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast, bid farewell to Scotland as we head south and home with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
