Itinerary:
Tuesday
Depart Leyland at 11.00hrs for our journey to Heysham to board the afternoon ferry to the Isle of Man. Disembark in Douglas, from here it's a short journey to the hotel with time to unpack before our evening meal.
Wednesday
Today we enjoy journeys on two of the island's iconic electric railways. From Douglas take a morning single journey to Laxey on the Manx Electric Railway with a little free time in Laxey before joining the Snaefell Mountain Railway, a journey to the Summit and back featuring original Victorian wooden-bodied tramcars and stunning panoramic views. On the return there will be time in Laxey to obtain lunch before joining the coach for the journey back to Douglas.
Thursday
Today we meet our stop-on guide who will join us on the coach for a guided tour with visits to the Isle of Man Motor Museum and Knockaloe Visitor Centre included.
Friday
Morning visit to the National Folk Museum and Park at Cregneash. Followed by an afternoon visit to the IOM Steam Railway Museum before boarding the train from Port Erin back to Douglas.
Saturday
Check out of our hotel following an early breakfast, head to Douglas Port to board the ferry back to Heysham to continue our journey home.

| About the hotel | The Rutland Hotel is an elegant building situated on the Queens Promenade in Douglas enjoying beautiful panoramic views across Douglas Bay. Conveniently located a short, pleasant walk to the town centres local bars, restaurants and shops. Guest rooms at the 3 Star Rutland are traditional, comfortable rooms with neutral décor. There is a lounge bar onsite that offers 2-nights entertainment during your stay. Please note due to the original architectural features of the Rutland Hotel, we politely advise that it is not suitable for any guests requiring, wheelchair, mobility assistance or street level access. There are 9 external steps to access the hotel entrance, as well as internal steps to the upper floors, including the access route from the lift to adjacent bedroom corridors. There are no ground floor bedrooms or accessible/disabled rooms. |
