Spend free time exploring the Manx capital filled with charm, the largest town on the island with a two-mile-long sweeping bay, nestled on the east coast, its shopping promenade dotted with restored 19th century buildings. Emerald seas, a rocky coastline and the isle being the only entire nation in the world to be recognised as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve make the Isle of Man special. Visit seaside towns, ports, and small fishing villages as we travel through the beautiful scenery of the Gulf Stream Isle with a local guide on board on one of the days. Railway tracks carve the landscape of this wonderful island gem, during our tour we will be travelling on three of them by steam train, the electric railway and the Snaefell Mountain Railway, all great ways to discover the island and enjoy the views. Includes visits to the Isle of Man Motor Museum, the charming National Folk Museum in Cregneash and Knockaloe Visitor Centre, the WW1 centre for Internment. Itinerary
Monday
Depart Leyland at 11.00am for our journey to Heysham to board the 13.45 ferry to Douglas, Isle of Man, re-join the coach to make the short journey to our hotel arriving in time for our evening meal.
Tuesday
This morning following breakfast we board the Manx Electric Railway as we travel from Douglas to Laxey. From Laxey we will board the Snaefell Mountain Railway as we travel up to the summit, returning to Laxey with a little free time to explore before meeting the coach for the return journey to Douglas for free time in the resort.
Wednesday
Today, Jane our knowledgeable guide will be joining us on the coach as we tour the island with a morning stop at knockaloe Visitor Centre and an afternoon visit to the Isle of Man Motor Museum.
Thursday
This morning's visit is to the National Folk Museum at Cregneash followed by an afternoon journey on the Isle of Man Steam Railway from Douglas to Port Erin, includes entry into the museum.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following an early breakfast as we make the short journey to the port to board the 08.00am ferry back to Heysham, re-join the coach in Heysham as we continue our journey home.
