Sunday
Depart Leyland at 08.00am for our journey to Norfolk and our hotel on the outskirts of Norwich with a suitable lunch stop en-route
Monday - Wednesday
Today we head toward the Norfolk Coast to visit Holkham Hall, a magnificent 18th century Palladian mansion, home to the Earls of Leicester. Wander gilded staterooms filled with interesting collections, original furniture, tapestries and works of art by Van Dyck, Rubens and Gainsborough, step through Venetian gates to explore the enchanting Walled Garden. Today also includes a journey along the coast to visit the vibrant, traditional seaside town of Sheringham, quintessentially English with a Blue Flag beach.
Today we journey to the historic Market town of Aylsham to take a single journey on the Bure Valley Railway through wonderful Norfolk Countryside to the heart of the Norfolk Broads and Wroxham, the capital of the Broads. Re-join the coach as we travel the short distance into Wroxham, home to Roy's, possibly the largest village store in the country, spend a little free time here before boarding the boat for a leisurely Broads tour.
Today we visit the unique attraction Thursford Museum, discover the world's largest collection of steam engines and organs, hear Robert Wolfe one of the world's leading theatre organist's play the mighty Wurlitzer at 12.30hrs, watch silent movies and perhaps ride the fairground carousel and the gondola (cost of rides are not included), shop in the Olde Worlde Shopping Village and perhaps make a pitstop at the Barn Café. Today we also spend free time in Norwich with its hilltop castle and iconic cathedral, perhaps wander Elm Hill, the most complete medieval street in Norwich, a photographer's dream. Head to New Castle Quarter shopping centre or take time out in the many cafes, coffee shops and restaurants many serving scrumptious, local produce from the surrounding farming community.

Check out of our hotel following breakfast for the journey home with a suitable lunch stop en-route.

| About the hotel | The Holiday Inn Norwich North (previously the Hilton) is a modern hotel located just 4 miles from Norwich City Centre. This superb 4-star hotel has leisure facilities including indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room, gym and solarium. The hotel is located near the airport but, as it is away from the terminal and runway there is little aircraft noise. Bedroom windows are also triple glazed. Guest bedrooms are modern, spacious air-conditioned rooms. Although there is a lift, ground floor rooms are available on request, these include 3 disabled rooms with wet room bathrooms on request only. |
