Partake in an informative guided tour at Wahington Wetland Centre where you can spot a variety of wildlife species that make the River Wear their home and visit Durham, the UNESCO World Heritage Site dominated by the Norman cathedral and castle.

Itinerary:
Monday
Depart Leyland at 09.00hrs for our journey to the Grand Hotel with a lunch stop at The Mill Outlet, Batley en-route. Depart at 14.00hrs to continue our journey to the hotel, enjoy a warm northern welcome as your case is taken to your room.
Tuesday
Today's excursion takes us along the Durham Heritage Coast to the lively harbour town of Seaham with a beach famous for its colourful sea glass. Perhaps grab an ice cream or just enjoy the stunning view from Seaham Harbour Marina. There's a photo opportunity to be had with Tommy the WWI statue and a busy seafront with a selection of cafes and bars. Continue our journey to Washington Wetland Centre where a friendly warden will take us on a guided tour of the site. Spot a variety of wildlife species that make the River Wear their home with the extra bonus of resident flamingos and otters. To complete our day, we have an afternoon visit to the compact cathedral city of Durham.
Wednesday
Today's excursion is a visit to Hartlepool's Historic Quay, explore this magnificent reproduction of an 18th century seaport portraying the exiting experience of life in the times of Nelson and Trafalgar. The centrepiece is HMS Trincomalee, you'll also find the Museum of Hartlepool and PSS Wingfield Castle all included in the Maritime Experience Ticket included. Later in the afternoon we enjoy a cream tea back at the hotel with time to relax before dinner.
Thursday
Today we make a journey west to Bishop Auckland to uncover all that the Auckland Project has to offer. Gain access to Auckland Palace and Gardens to uncover stories of the powerful Prince Bishops in one of Europe's best preserved Bishop's Palaces. Discover stories of proud mining heritage, culture and community at the wonderful Mining Art Gallery. Celebrate the Spanish Golden Age in a unique mix of art, history and culture in the Spanish Gallery. Discover a story of faith, art and power at the architecturally stunning Faith Museum and enjoy the magnificent views from the iconic Auckland Tower. A great day not to be missed.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast for the return journey home, before we do our excursion today takes us to Whitby, enjoy free time to explore allowing time for lunch. Depart Whitby at 14.30hrs to continue our journey home.
