Itinerary:
Monday
Depart Leyland at 08.30hrs for our journey to Carmarthen with a lunch stop in Shrewsbury en-route, depart Shrewsbury at 13.00hrs to continue our journey to the Ivy Bush Hotel, arrive to a warm welcome with tea/coffee and Welsh Cake while your case is taken to your room.
Tuesday
This morning, we travel west to the small seaside resort of Saundersfoot with time to explore the little harbour before continuing our journey to Tenby, Southwest Wales's main holiday resort. Discover old town walls, interesting little side streets and alleyways as well as two superb beaches to explore, with time to obtain lunch. Our return to the hotel takes us via Pendine Sands and Laugharne, the former home of Dylan Thomas.
Wednesday
Today's excursion takes us to the beautiful unspoilt scenery of the Gower Peninsula, designated an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. Visit the picture postcard fishing village of Mumbles, an area of pretty cottages, high end boutiques, independent shops, quirky galleries and a beautiful seafront location, with time to explore and obtain lunch. From Mumbles travel through magnificent countryside to view the nature reserve of Worm's Head and Rhossili Bay, where the 250ft cliff drops steeply to the beach below before returning to the hotel.
Thursday
Today we drive through St Bride's Bay and Newgale Sands to the magical place of St Davids, birthplace of the Patron Saint of Wales. The Beautiful cathedral of St David's is the smallest in Great Britain and is well worth a visit, allowing time to explore and obtain lunch. From St David's head around the Preseli Hills, a landscape of wild moorland, heath and grassland back to the hotel.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast for the return journey home with a lunch stop at the award-winning visitor attraction the British Ironworks Centre in Oswestry with time to explore the sculptures, perhaps visit the Artisan Shopping Village and obtain lunch before re-joining the coach at 15.00hrs to continue our journey home.
