Enjoy scenic drives through the Cotswolds, an area characterized by honey-coloured stone villages and bustling towns surrounded by a gentle rolling landscape to visit some of its best gardens as they awaken from their winter sleep. Walk in the footsteps of some of history’s most notable characters on a visit Sudeley Castle and Gardens, with royal connections spanning a thousand years there is much to discover. Visit the UK’s only complete surviving rococo garden on a visit to Painswick Rococo Garden. In the lovely North Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Hill we discover the relatively new hidden treasure Bourton House Garden. A great tour for budding gardeners or anyone with an interest in history.

Itinerary:
Monday
Depart Leyland at 08.00hrs for our journey to the Cheltenham Chase Hotel, en-route we have a visit to the National Memorial Arboretum allowing time to explore and obtain lunch. Depart at 14.00hrs to continue our journey to the hotel, arrive to a warm welcome while you bag is taken to your room.
Tuesday - Thursday
Today we visit nearby Painswick Rococo Garden, designed almost 300 years ago in the 1740's by Benjamin Hyett to entertain his guests at Painswick House. This is the UK's only complete surviving Rococo Garden. As trees and shrubs regain their leaves, the open view and vistas of winter months become obscured, and attention focuses on the wonderful internal features of the garden. Spring brings a magnificent display of over 9,000 bulbs in the Exedra Garden especially stunning in April, cowslips and bluebells can be enjoyed in the woodland and meadow. In the afternoon head to Stroud, known as the Covent Garden of the Cotswolds.
Today we visit magnificent Sudeley Castle and Gardens, explore and discover the castles treasures, stories and historic treasures, enter private castle rooms and visit the exquisite final resting place of Tudor Queen Katherine Parr. Visit the gardens set against the majestic castle backdrop, ten beautiful gardens wrap around the castle surrounded by rolling view over the Cotswold Hills. Return to the hotel with time to relax and perhaps take a dip in the pool before dinner.
Today's excursion takes us into the Cotswolds to beautiful Bourton House Garden in the lovely North Cotswold Village of Bourton-on-the-Hill, the garden is a hidden treasure, this relatively new garden being created through the 80's and 90's is now recognised as one of the finest gardens in the UK, beautiful all year round. In the afternoon visit nearby Chipping Campden before returning to the hotel.

Check out of our hotel following breakfast with a lunch stop at Trentham Shopping Village allowing time to explore and obtain lunch, depart at 14.30hrs to continue our journey home.
