Following a leisurely breakfast, this morning's excursion takes us to Charlestown, spend free time exploring the beautiful Georgian port where Clay Country meets the coast, star of recent films and the popular TV series Poldark, marvel at the majestic tall ships in the Grade II listed harbour as you take in breathtaking sea and harbour views, allowing time for lunch. This afternoon we head slightly inland to Wheal Martyn Clay Works to discover the special Cornish ingredient that has shaped our everyday lives, it's found in your toothpaste, paper, car tyres and cosmetics and is Cornwall's largest mining industry. Uncover the story of this fascinating billion-pound global industry and the people who worked and lived in the shadows of Cornwall's iconic 'White Pyramids'.

Today we journey to the head of the Looe Valley and the base of Bodmin Moor's remote expanse to visit the ancient Stannary market town of Liskeard. The beautiful town is famous for local Cornish produce, with time to explore and obtain lunch, perhaps visit the Town Museum, Mechanical Instrument Museum or St Martin's Church the second largest in Cornwall with parts dating to Norman times. Return to Looe mid-afternoon to enjoy time to relax.

Today's excursion takes us further along the Cornish coast to the picture-perfect village of Mevagissey, filming location for the ITV series Playing Nice. Mevagissey is still a working fishing village with distinctive twin harbour providing a safe haven for the boats and the daily catch. Perhaps visit the galleries and shops that cluster around the harbour and pretty streets. The village is renowned for its seafood restaurants, treat yourself and indulge in some Cornish scallops, crab or mackerel. If you'd like to learn about the history of the village pay a visit to Mevagissey Museum. This afternoon we head to the nearby Lost Gardens of Heligan, a must visit in Spring when rhododendrons and azaleas are in full bloom. Unearth the story of this Victorian garden that was lost to brambles when its gardeners went to fight for King and country, now re-discovered and lovingly restored.
