Itinerary:
Monday
Depart Leyland at 08.00hrs for our journey north to Crianlarich with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
Tuesday
Join the Scotrail train at Crianlarich station for a scenic journey to Oban on the West Highland Railway. The scenic West Highland Railway line takes us through the magnificent Pass of Brander and alongside Loch Etive sea loch. On arrival in Oban known as the Seafood Capital of Scotland, enjoy free time to explore and obtain lunch, perhaps dine of the freshest of seafoods or savour some of the world's most famous Scotch whiskies and wander to the harbour to enjoy breathtaking views before boarding the train back to Crianlarich.
Wednesday
Today we head along Glen Dochart to Killin where the falls of Dorchart rush through the village, from here enjoy the views framed by majestic mountains and hillside farms and cottages as we drive along Loch Tay to Aberfeldy, the pretty Highland Perthshire town on the banks of the River Tay. The town was made famous by Scotland's National Poet Robert Burns, today Aberfeldy is Scotland's first Fairtrade town, take time to explore and obtain lunch. This afternoon takes us south along Sma' Glen to Crieff where we visit the Glenturret Distillery, makers of Famous Grouse, enjoy a distillery tour and wee dram. Our return journey to the hotel takes us along Loch Earn in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and stunning Glen Ogle.
Thursday
Today's journey takes us across the beautifully remote Rannoch Moor, passing through some of the wildest country in Scotland, one of the last remaining wildernesses in Europe, an area of spectacular scenery and lonely lochs with a photo opportunity at Rannoch Moor viewpoint. Continue our scenic journey to make a stop in Fort William, the Outdoor Capital of the UK with free time to explore and obtain lunch. Re-join the coach to re-trace our steps following the banks of Loch Linnhe to Ballachullish and Loch Leven through magnificent Glencoe with an afternoon break at the Glencoe Visitor Centre, here you can learn about feuding clans and the infamous Glencoe Massacre, return over Rannoch Moor to Crianlarich.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast for the return journey home with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
