Enjoy free time exploring elegant Eastbourne with its 19th century pier and wide promenade fronting a quintessentially British shingle beach. Explore Lewes, the beautiful county town of Sussex in the heart of the county, wander Medieval streets to catch a glimpse of a bygone era and Alfriston, East Sussex’s prettiest village known for its thatched buildings. Journey along the coast into 1066 country to visit Rye, the stylish cobbled citadel and Hastings with its 3-mile-long seafront, pier and Bottle Alley, its unique double-decker promenade.

Itinerary:
Monday
Depart Leyland at 08.30hrs for our journey to Eastbourne with a suitable lunch stop en-route. Arrive to a warm welcome while you case is taken to your room.
Tuesday
This morning, we head to Lewes, a great place to shop with a choice of independent, antique and quirky shops to browse. If hunger strikes perhaps visit one of the towns historic pubs. If your lucky today you may also see Harvey's Brewery shire horses on their local dray deliveries. This afternoon we head back towards the coast with a stop in East Sussex's prettiest village; Alfriston, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Wealden South Downs. Perhaps visit St Andrew's Church known as 'The Cathedral of the South Downs' or one of the villages many galleries and cosy cafes or just soak up the peace and tranquillity of the area before continuing our journey back to the hotel via a photo stop at Beachy Head.
Wednesday
Day of leisure to relax and explore Eastbourne at your own pace.
Thursday
Journey along the coast into 1066 Country with a morning visit to the beautiful medieval citadel of Rye, built on smugglers secrets and bygone tales. Enjoy discovering the towns hidden nooks and crannies home to hidden gems and cosy inns allowing time for lunch. In the afternoon head back towards Eastbourne with a stop in Hastings. Above you will see the castle ruins, that have looked over Hastings for nearly 1,000 years. Explore the Old Town's winding streets and tiny twittens, crammed with Tudor houses and flower-bedecked cottages, and fishing quarter with its towering net huts and ramshackle huts on the beach.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast for the return journey home with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
