Take a guided tour of Bushmills Distillery, considered to be the oldest licensed whiskey distillery in the world. Explore Derry on a guided walking tour around the 17th century city walls, learn of St Columbs Cathedral and historic Guildhall with a commentary covering the citys origins, the Troubles and more recently TV fame with the Derry Girls. Visit the walled gardens at Glenarm Castle located within the Antrim Coast and Glens Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Delightful and bursting with colour enjoy the magnificent array of peonies and exquisitely fragrant roses as you wander this magnificent created in the 1820s. Itinerary
Monday
Depart Leyland at 08.00am for our journey to Cairnryan in Scotland to board our 15.30hrs Stena Line ferry to Belfast with a suitable lunch stop en-route. Re-join our coach in Belfast to continue our journey to Coleraine and our hotel for the next four nights. Arrive to a warm Norther Irish welcome with tea/coffee while your luggage is taken to your room.
Tuesday
Full day tour - This morning we journey to Derry, Londonderry where we join our knowledgeable guide for a guided walking tour around the 17th century city walls, learn of St Columbs Cathedral and historic Guildhall with a commentary covering the city's origins, the Troubles and more recently TV fame with the Derry Girls. Followed by an afternoon of free time to relax and explore at leisure.
Wednesday
Full day tour - This morning we head inland to the village of Bushmills, for a guided tour in the home to the world's oldest licensed whiskey distillery before travelling
to the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Giant's Causeway where we visit the award-winning visitor centre, you can then walk or take a bus down to the coastal path and the 40,000 interlocking hexagonal columns, some up to 12m high (N.B - shuttle bus to the Stones is £1.00 each way with 3-shuttles per hour, can't be pre-booked, not included in the price). Return to the hotel along the scenic Causeway Coast via Portrush and Portstewart, arriving back at the hotel late afternoon.
Thursday
Long half day - Journey to the Antrim Coast and Glens Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty as today's excursion takes us on a visit to Glenarm Castle Gardens, colourful and beautifully fragrant, the gardens created in 1820 are a delight for the senses. Return to the hotel via Ballycastle to enjoy leisure time at the hotel and free time to explore Coleraine.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast as we head to Belfast Port and bid farewell to Northern Ireland, with free time to explore Belfast and obtain lunch before boarding the 15.30hrs Stena Line ferry from Belfast to Cairnryan in Scotland, when we arrive in Cairnryan, re-join the coach for our journey home with a suitable meal stop en-route.
