Itinerary:
Friday
Depart Leyland at 10.00am for our journey to Newcastle with a suitable lunch stop at Barnard Castle en-route, depart Barnard Castle at 14.30hrs. Arrive at the Copthorne to a warm North East welcome with tea/coffee while your case is taken to your room.
Saturday
Following breakfast today we enjoy leisure time in Newcastle, relax and enjoy the hotel or discover and explore the wonderful historic city. This evening following an early evening meal, we will be setting off on our journey to Bishop Auckland to watch the magical spectacular of Kynren, an epic tale of England enjoyed from our Deluxe seats.
N.B On arrival at the site you will need to pass through bag and ticket-check (including random body scanning). Bags are allowed, provided their dimensions do not exceed 40cm x 30cm x 20cm. No food and drink (including water) that you bring with you is allowed to go further than Ticket Check, except baby food or food for medical conditions. Empty drink containers are permitted, EXCLUDING aluminium water containers or flasks. Fresh potable water is available to refill for free from all toilet blocks and from the food outlets.
Sunday
This morning following a leisurely start join the coach at 11.30hrs to travel a short distance to the coast, visit the picturesque town of Tynemouth famous for its Sunday market at Tynemouth Station, the magnificent Priory and Castle ruins, pretty shopping streets, attractive bars, cafes and restaurants, Tynemouth Longsands beach and the pier with views over the North Sea and King Edwards Bay, take time to explore and obtain lunch before returning to the hotel at 16.00hrs.
Monday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast departing at 09.30hrs. Our historic journey isn't over, today before returning home we visit Beamish the wonderful open-air museum of the north, explore and travel the site on wonderful modes of complimentary transport from a selection of vintage buses and trams, meet costumed folk and discover fascinating stories of everyday life in the region through time as you wander authentic streets, shops, houses, farms and Pit Village, go down the pit, eat in a traditional chippy or visit the cinema the choice is yours. Depart Beamish at 15.00hrs to continue our journey home.
