Itinerary:
Wednesday
Depart Leyland at 09.30hrs for our journey north to Cumbernauld with a suitable lunch stop en-route. Arrive to a warm Scottish welcome while your case is taken to your room.
Thursday - Saturday
This morning, we sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery as we journey along the banks of the Forth Estuary and over the Avon Viaduct on a heritage rail journey on the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway followed by a visit to the onsite Railway Museum. Mid- afternoon return to the hotel with time to relax and perhaps use the leisure facilities before our evening meal.
Today's excursion takes us to Glasgow, this morning we visit the award-winning Riverside Museum, learn about Glasgow's industrial heritage, the people who made the city, and the transportation innovations that have shaped the world. One of the highlights of the museum is the recreated street scene, which provides a glimpse into Glasgow's past. Visitors can stroll along a cobbled street lined with shops, houses, and even a subway station, all authentically recreated to transport visitors back in time. followed by free time to explore the city of Glasgow. Depart Glasgow at 16.30hrs to return to the hotel.
Today we take to the water on a Three Bridges Cruise, commentary provides fascinating insights into the area's history and wildlife as you relax on this 1.5-hour sightseeing cruise of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take in the spectacular Three Bridges, the beautiful panoramas of the Edinburgh skyline, Inchcolm Island with its medieval abbey, and look out for the seals and marine wildlife. Following our cruise journey over the Forth by road to visit the Royal Burgh of Culross, a timeless, historic village with its own ochre palace that appears to be suspended in time, one of the most picturesque villages in Scotland.
Sunday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast. Make a stop to see the Kelpies, the worlds largest equine sculptures before continuing our journey home with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
