The Ayrshire coastline has lots to offer with beautiful sandy beaches and breath-taking views over Ailsa Craig and the Isle of Arran. Troon is possibly best known for its golf courses but the town also offers old seaside charm with independent shops, cafes and restaurants to please its visitors. If your feeling energetic take the Smugglers Trail that takes you over the hill to the romantic, historic Dundonald Castle. During our stay our excursions include travelling to Luss, the picturesque conservation village on the ‘Bonnie Banks’ of Loch Lomond in the Trossachs National Park for a visit and a cruise on the Loch and a trip to discover the birthplace of Scotland’s National Bard Robert Burns. Itinerary
Monday
Depart Leyland at 10am for our journey north to Troon with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
Tuesday - Thursday
Free time at leisure in Troon with the following excursions:
Long half day - travel to the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond in the Trossachs National Park, visit the pretty conservation village of Luss and take a cruise on Loch Lomond, return to Troon mid-afternoon for time at leisure.
Full day - visit the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, followed by a visit to the nearby popular seaside resort of Ayr where you can take a stroll on its charming seafront and fantastic esplanade which is perfect for walking, there's also great shopping and dining facilities.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast for our return journey home with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
