Itinerary:
Monday
Depart Leyland at 10.00hrs for our journey to Irvine in Ayrshire with a suitable lunch stop en-route. Arrive to a warm Scottish welcome with tea/coffee and shortbread while your case is taken to your room. Enjoy mulled wine before dinner. There is a pianist for entertainment this evening.
Tuesday
Today we head to Glasgow to visit the much-loved Glasgow Christmas Market. Wander colourful stalls offering a selection of gifts, handmade products and festive treats in a Christmas village of rustic cabins and stalls. Whether your shopping for that special gift or something delicious to eat, Glasgow's Christmas Markets will be sure to please.
Wednesday
Take a morning drive south along the Ayrshire Coast making our first stop in the port of Troon with a chance to explore the town made famous for its golf course, Royal Troon. Later continue to the seaside resort of Ayr where we enjoy the afternoon taking in the sea air and exploring the popular seaside resort, returning back to the hotel to relax before our traditional Christmas dinner.
Thursday
Today we make the short trip to visit the Scottish Maritime Museum in Irvine. The museum hosts a collection of historic vessels to view and showcases Scotland's ship-building heritage. The rest of the day is free to explore Irvine at leisure.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast for the return journey home with a suitable lunch stop en-route.

| About the hotel | The Riverside Lodge Hotel is a modern hotel located on the outskirts of Irvine, a great base for exploring this wonderfully picturesque area. Set in its own ample grounds with extensive outside seating area, the hotel owns a Green Tourism Award. Guest bedrooms are spacious, comfortable, elegantly decorated, and well-equipped rooms for maximum rest and relaxation. Although the hotel doesn’t have a lift there are 64 ground floor rooms that can be booked on request, the remaining rooms are on the 1st floor accessible by a staircase. Rooms are all shower over bath. There is one fully disabled access room that is bookable on request, as there is only one of this room type the room will be in high demand. |
