Monday
Depart Leyland at 08.00hrs for our journey to the 4-star Copthorne, Newcastle with a lunch stop in historic Ripon en-route, depart Ripon at 13.30hrs to continue our journey to the hotel. Arrive to a warm North East welcome with tea/coffee and biscuits while your case is taken to your room.
Tuesday - Thursday
Leisure time at the hotel with the following excursions
This morning we are joined by our tour guide for the day. Enjoy a scenic journey around the North East taking in filming locations for Vera as well as Catherine Cookson Country with a stop along the way. A great day out for 'Vera' fans and lovers of Dame Catherine Cookson novels.
Today we head to the coast with a visit to Bamburgh, with its mighty castle and beautiful coastline. Enjoy a break here to explore and obtain lunch before heading south along the coast to Seahouses, a busy fishing village and coastal resort.
Free day in Newcastle, from our hotel, it's just a short walk from the Millenium 'Winking Eye' Bridge and Newcastle's famous quayside. Perhaps enjoy a riverside stroll before enjoying lunch in a quayside pub or take a walk into the city to obtain lunch and enjoy some retail therapy in Eldon Square Shopping Centre. Newcastle has a great choice of museums that are open throughout the Autumn months with most offering free admission with the Discovery Museum and the Museum of the North reachable on foot in under 30 minutes.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast for the return journey home with a lunch stop at the Metrocentre Gateshead before heading home, allowing time to shop, explore and obtain lunch. Depart at 13.30hrs to continue our journey home.
