Itinerary:
Monday
Depart Leyland at 10:00am for our journey to York with a lunch stop in the elegant Victorian spa town of Harrogate en-route. Depart Harrogate at 14.30hrs to continue our journey to Burn Hall, arrive to a warm Yorkshire welcome while your case is taken to your room with time to relax or visit the York Bird of Prey Centre to the rear of the hotel before our evening meal.
Tuesday
Today's excursion takes us into the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to visit magnificent Castle Howard House and Gardens, discover over 300 years of history in the Howards family home as you journey through the house to enjoy iconic architecture and beautiful interiors, wander parkland and gardens home to lakes, fountains, follies and monuments.
Wednesday
Today we head to historic York. Start the day with a cruise on the River Ouse with free time afterwards to explore the wonderful historic walled city with Roman roots and a Viking past, perhaps visit the Minster or the Railway Museum, wander the Shambles, shop until you drop or just sit and relax and find somewhere lovely for lunch, the choice is yours.
Thursday
Today's excursion takes us into the North Yorkshire Moors National Park to take a step back in time on a nostalgic train journey from Pickering to Grosmont, sit back and relax as we journey through breathtaking Yorkshire Moors scenery, on arrival at the heritage station there will be a little time to visit the 1950's Grosmont Shop including a great range of railway memorabilia and the traditionally decorated refreshment room, depart Grosmont at 13.00hrs. Spend the rest of the day in the picturesque seaside resort of Whitby overlooked by the beautiful gothic Whitby Abbey, don't forget to sample Whitby's famous fish and chips before re-joining the coach at 16.00hrs to make our scenic return to the hotel by road.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following a leisurely breakfast for our return journey home via the picturesque Yorkshire Dales National Park with a lunch stop in Hawes en-route, depart Hawes at 14.30hrs to continue our journey home.

The red bricked Victorian manor house is a traditional hotel with modern, bright bedrooms where you will receive a very warm Yorkshire welcome. N.B this hotel does not have bedrooms with walk-in showers. Located to the rear of the hotel is the York Bird of Prey Centre, complimentary access is included each day except Tuesday, open until 17.30-18.00hrs. |
