Itinerary
Friday
Depart Leyland at 09.30hrs for our journey to Cambridge with a suitable lunch stop en-route, receive a warm welcome on arrival with tea/coffee and biscuits.
Saturday
This morning following breakfast we head to Newmarket, magnificent home of horseracing. Our guide will take us to The Gallops, listen to the thundering of hooves as the horses work over 2500 acres of Jockey Club land, followed by the guide joining us on the coach for a Driving Racing Royalty Tour. Afterwards we visit the National Stud for a fascinating and informative visit, even for those who are not interested in horse racing, discover the journey of the horse from training field to racetrack. There is also a chance to get up close and personal with the horses, meet top stallions, mares and their young taking their first steps on the journey to becoming a racehorse.
After our tour the excitement builds as we head off to the racecourse for Race Day, enjoy the exciting atmosphere as you cheer your favourites towards the winning post. We have included and afternoon tea at the races to complete our day. Return to the hotel, hopefully to celebrate a win.
