Explore historic Edinburgh, Scotland’s Capital, wander the compact centre to see World Heritage Sites of the Old and New Town, charming tea-rooms, restaurants or traditional pubs, soak up the festival atmosphere before you head to the castle for the highlight of your holiday, a magical Evening performance with wonderful seats of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo with illuminated Edinburgh Castle as its backdrop, the Tattoo story began over seven decades ago with humble beginnings, today the Tattoo is performed by British Armed Forces, Commonwealth and international military bands and displays from artistic performance teams that will take your breath away and leave you with memories to last a lifetime. During our stay take a journey through the sky on the wonderful feat of engineering the Falkirk Wheel with a visit to see the Kelpies. Travel to discover the magnificent Rosslyn Chapel located in a beautiful setting that has along with the mysterious symbolism if its ornate stonework inspired, intrigued, and attracted writers, artists and visitors, immortalized in Dan Brown’s Da Vinci Code. Itinerary
Monday:
Depart Leyland at 9am for our journey to Stirling with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
Tuesday -Wednesday
Following a leisurely morning of free time in Stirling allowing time for lunch join the coach back at the hotel at 2pm to travel into Edinburgh where you will have free time to explore, soak up the festive atmosphere and perhaps have an evening meal before we head up to the castle for the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo evening performance. .
Following a leisurely breakfast we travel to Falkirk to take a journey through the sky on the Falkirk Wheel, with a visit to the Kelpies Visitor Centre in Helix Park home of the magnificent spectacle, the 30m high Kelpies, allowing time for lunch before returnin g to the hotel for the rest of the afternoon.
Thursday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast but our holiday isn't over yet, before heading home we visit Rosslyn Chapel and take a lunch stop in Peebles before continuing our journey home.

| About the hotel
| The Golden Lion Hotel has welcomed guests, including royalty for over 200 years, the Scottish poet Robert Burns wrote a poem on the hotel window frame, a plaque commemorating this can be found on the front of the hotel. Located in Stirling's city centre with shops, bars and cafes on the doorstep. Guest bedrooms are comfortable and traditionally furnished.
