Itinerary

Thursday
Depart Leyland at 08.00hrs for our journey to the Langstone Quays Resort, Hayling Island with a suitable lunch stop en-route. Arrive to a warm welcome with tea/coffee and biscuits while your luggage is taken care of.

Friday
Following breakfast we make our way to Chichester with its magnificent cathedral, Roman walls and a medieval heart. This compact city abounds with history from the Tudor Market Cross to the magnificent Georgian Terraces, take time to explore, allowing time for lunch. This afternoon we visit Arundel Castle, seat of the Dukes of Norfolk. Built in the 11th century over the years the castle has been added to and restored to the superb castle we see today. Enjoy this ancient castle, stately home and delightful gardens.

Saturday
Following a leisurely breakfast we make the short journey to Southsea for the highlight of our tour, take a wonderful Hovercraft flight across the Solent to the Isle of Wight seaside resort of Ryde. The short crossing features a hovercraft experience where you will have chance to meet the pilot and crew who will talk you through the workings of the craft before showcasing its abilities including 360 degree turns, deflating the skirt to 'float like a boat' and a flight around local landmarks including forts used in world wars. On arrival in Ryde enjoy a 2-course lunch at The Ryde Castle Pub followed by free time for you to explore Ryde at your own leisure, return back to Southsea by hover crossing later in the day.

Sunday
Following breakfast we take the short journey to maritime Portsmouth where lots of things to see and so awaits. Perhaps take a Portsmouth Harbour Cruise, visit the historic Dockyard, home of 'Victory and 'Mary Rose', or wander the Old Town and visit the cathedral as well as Spice Island, former haunt of smugglers and press gangs. A visit to Gunwharf Quays is a must with an array of excellent shops, bars, and restaurants. You could take a trip up the awesome Spinaker Tower for breathtaking views along the South Coast, today the choice is yours. Return to the hotel mid-afternoon to relax and take the opportunity to use the hotels leisure facilities.
