Then on to the Isle of Mull Scotland’s Eagle Island home to the 4-star Isle of Mull Hotel and Spa, in a most spectacular location with panoramic sea views, includes a scenic journey around Mull with a visit to colourful Tobermory, take a foot passenger crossing to the Isle of Iona, the tiny Inner Hebridean island on the southwest coast of Mull, known as ‘The Cradle of Christianity’ in Scotland and burial place of 48 Scottish Kings. Itinerary
Thursday
Depart Leyland at 08.00am for our journey north to Scotland with a suitable lunch stop en-route, continue our journey to Wemyss Bay where will board a late afternoon ferry to the pretty Island of Bute, only 15 miles long and less than 2 miles wide, the island is our home for the next two nights, Check in at the Glenburn Hotel in the Victorian town of Rothesay.
Friday
Enjoy a relaxing morning in Rothesay followed by a scenic tour of the island with a visit to Mount Stuart, a flamboyant Victorian, Gothic style mansion with beautiful gardens within a 300-acre estate, continue around the island with photo stops at the stunning bays of Scalpsie and Ettrick.
Saturday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast for the short hop from Rhubodach to Colintraive. Journey further north with a stop in Inveraray then on to Oban for time at leisure before the crossing to Mull. Soak up some of the magnificent scenery of the island before arriving at the wonderful 4-star Isle of Mull Hotel and Spa Hotel, our home for the next two nights.
Sunday
Today we enjoy a scenic excursion around Mull with a visit to colourful Tobermory, our excursion today includes a foot passenger crossing the short distance across the Sound of Iona to the legendary Isle of Iona, burial place of 48 ancient Scottish kings, a packed lunch provided by the hotel to enjoy on our journey today.
Monday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast, take the return ferry from Mull to Oban, continue our journey south through Scotland to our overnight hotel The Golden Lion in Stirling with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
Tuesday
Check out of our overnight hotel following breakfast to continue our journey South through Scotland to home with a suitable lunch stop en-route as we bid farewell to Bonnie Scotland…..until next time.

| About the hotel | The Glenburn Hotel is set in a prime position above terraced gardens, the 3-star hotel commands fabulous views overlooking Rothesay Bay and the Cowal Peninsula, originally contracted in 1892 as a hydrotherapy retreat. Guest bedrooms are beautifully furnished and decorated rooms, designed with comfort in mind. Please Note: Many of the guest bedrooms are located within the hotels main building however there are ground floor rooms subject to availability and on request only, these are located within a side annex building which is accessible from the main building. There is a lift to all floor however due to the historic nature of the building it may be necessary to negotiate some steps throughout the hotel. |

| About the hotel | Following extensive refurbishment within public areas and guest bedrooms the Isle of Mull Hotel and Spa was accredited its 4-star rating in the Spring of 2021. 2022 saw the remodelling of the gardens down to Criagnure Bay. This wonderful hotel commands a spectacular location in a quiet position close to the port of Criagnure. Pool access is complimentary to guests, (all other leisure and spa facilities are chargeable and must be booked and paid for by the guest locally, booking is advisable). Guest bedrooms are decorated to the highest standard, inspired by the landscape of the island, each room features all the comforts needed for a relaxing stay surrounded by nature. Please Note: The hotel doesn’t have a lift and it is necessary to negotiate a number of steps to each of the inner facing Classic bedrooms on our room allocation, upgrades which include ground floor rooms and sea view rooms are available upon request and are subject to a further supplement. |
