Itinerary
Monday
Depart Leyland at 09.30hrs for our journey to Cambridge with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
Tuesday
Following a leisurely breakfast we visit Peterborough with a guided Highlights tour of its magnificent cathedral, resting place of Queen Katharine of Aragon and the original burial place of Mary Queen of Scots followed by free time to explore the historic city allowing time for lunch.
Wednesday
Following a leisurely breakfast head into to Cambridge for a guided walking tour including Cambridge Highlights, Kings College, and Kings College Chapel, enjoy time at leisure to explore afterwards allowing time for lunch, perhaps take a river cruise to see the university town from a relaxing new perspective or stroll along the river return to the hotel mid-afternoon giving you chance to relax or use the hotels leisure facilities.
Thursday
Following a leisurely breakfast we head to picturesque Ely, the compact city in a wonderful riverside setting, perhaps take a boat trip or visit 'The Ship of the Fens'- its magnificent cathedral, or Oliver Cromwell's house to discover the story behind its most famous resident, relax by the river and watch the world go by with a wide range of places to eat and drink or wander the busy High Street of independent shops and the Charter Market, the choice today is yours, however you choose to spend your day, Ely won't disappoint.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast for the return journey home with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
