Itinerary
Monday
Depart Leyland at 07.30am for our journey to Strathpeffer with a suitable lunch stop enroute.
Tuesday
Half day tour - Morning free in Strathpeffer at 12noon meet the coach as we head off on a scenic drive through Sutherland following part of the NC500 route, marvel at beautiful countryside and coastal views along the way to visit the Timespan Museum in Helmsdale for a guided tour to uncover stories of local history.
Wednesday
Full day tour - This morning following breakfast we visit Fort George, created by George II following the defeat of Bonnie Prince Charlie at Culloden, the ultimate defense against further Jacobite unrest, explore the forts history in The Highlanders Museum, Scotland's largest regimental museum outside of Edinburgh, in the afternoon we head to Aviemore to take a nostalgic steam train journey.
Thursday,
Full day tour - This morning we travel to Clansman Harbour to take a scenic Jacobite inspiration Cruise on Loch Ness, followed by free time in Inverness allowing time for lunch before visiting the Kilt Makers Visitor Centre, Scotland's only attraction solely dedicated to the national dress.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast for our return journey with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
