Sit back and relax on a nostalgic train journey from Cheltenham Racecourse on the Gloucester and Warwickshire Steam Railway travelling through some of the most spectacular scenery of the Cotswold’s. Walk in the footsteps of some of history’s most notable characters right in the heart of the Cotswold’s on a visit Sudeley Castle and Gardens, with royal connections spanning a thousand years there is much to discover, Sudeley is the only private castle in England to have a queen buried within its grounds, Queen Katherine Parr, the last and surviving wife of King Henry VIII lived and died here, Spring is a great time to visit Sudeley as its ten, award-winning gardens awaken in all their glory. Itinerary
Monday
Depart Leyland at 10.00am for our journey to the Cheltenham Chase Hotel, with a suitable lunch stop en-route
Tuesday - Thursday
Full day scenic tour of the Cotswolds including Stow-on-the-Wold, Morton-in-Marsh, and Broadway with suitable stops en-route.
Full day tour - following breakfast visit the beautiful Regency town of Cheltenham, with time for lunch, re-join the coach to make the short journey to Cheltenham Racecourse where we will board a steam train on the Gloucester Warwickshire Steam Railway.
Full day tour - Visit to Sudeley Castle and Gardens., followed by free time in Winchcombe.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast, travel to Stratford-upon-Avon for free time to explore, re-join the coach mid-afternoon to continue our journey home.
