Discover history through the ages from Tudor, through Victorian times to WWII, with wonderful visits to some of Kents best attractions. Visit magnificent Hever Castle, discover award winning gardens and a rich and varied historic tapestry in the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, one of Henry VIII’s ill-fated wives. Journey to Down House the country home where Charles Darwin lived with his wife and ten children, stand in the study where the famous Victorian wrote his world changing book ’On the Origin of Species’, wander in Charles Darwin’s footsteps through the gardens of his ‘outdoor laboratory’. Make a special visit to Biggin Hill Museum and Chapel to uncover the story of Britain’s most famous RAF fighter station, its high altitude and strategic location destined it to become the most important airfield of The Battle of Britain. One of Britain’s oldest aerodromes RAF Biggin Hill is still internationally recognized as Sir Winston Churchills strongest link. With visits to the historic cathedral city of Rochester and the ’Jewel of the Weald’ Tenterden with a historic steam train journey back to the golden age of rail this makes for a wonderful itinerary packed tour not to be missed.

Itinerary
Sunday
Depart Leyland at 08.30hrs for our journey to the 4-star Bridgewood Manor Hotel in Chatham with a suitable lunch stop en-route, arrive to a warm welcome with tea/coffee while your luggage is taken care of.
Monday
Following breakfast we have a morning free at the hotel, allowing you time to relax and use the leisure facilities, meet the coach at noon for our afternoon visit to Hever Castle, childhood home of Anne Boleyn.
Tuesday
Following breakfast today's excursion takes us on a morning visit to Down House, Charles Darwin's country home. In the afternoon we Travel to Biggin Hill to the RAF Museum and Chapel with a guided tour of the famous WWII fighter station.
Wednesday
Following a leisurely breakfast we have a morning visit to the nearby ancient cathedral city of Rochester, a place loved by the famous author Charles Dickens, allowing time for lunch and to explore before we head to Tenterden the 'Jewel of the Weald', take time to discover this picturesque town before we take a journey back to the golden age of rail travel on the Kent and Sussex Railway to Bodiam travelling through beautiful countryside of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Returning to the hotel via Staplehurst to continue our scenic journey of The High Weald.
Thursday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast for our return journey home with a suitable lunch stop en-route

Guest bedrooms are beautifully decorated, well-equipped, spacious rooms, designed with the upmost comfort in mind, a wonderful place to relax with great leisure facilities, including heated indoor swimming pool open form 6.30-20.00hrs Monday and 06.30-21.30hrs Tues-Thursday.
