Our excursion to the clifftop masterpiece Culzean Castle takes us along the Ayrshire Coast offering breathtaking coastal views, rich wildlife, and historical sites. Itinerary
Sunday
Depart Leyland at 10.00am for our journey to Irvine in Scotland with a suitable lunch stop en-route. Arrive at the Riverside Lodge Hotel to a warm Scottish welcome with tea/coffee and biscuits while your luggage is taken to your room.
Monday
This morning, we make the short journey to Ardrossan where we board the morning sailing to the Isle of Arran. (approx. 1hr sailing). On arrival in Brodick, the islands main town we have time to explore and obtain lunch. Take a scenic sightseeing tour of the island before catching the return afternoon sailing back to Ardrossan.
Tuesday
For a complete contrast, today's excursion takes us to Glasgow to visit the newly opened Riverside Glasgow Transport Museum, followed by free time in Glasgow, return to the hotel mid-afternoon.
Wednesday
Today's excursion begins with a drive south along the Ayrshire coast through Troon to Ayr where we have time to explore, take a seafront stroll and obtain lunch in the popular holiday resort. Re-join the coach to continue our journey to spectacular Culzean Castle and Country Park, in a stunning clifftop location near Turnberry.
Thursday
Today we cross the Erskine Bridge, travelling along the north of the river to Helensburgh, where we take a short break. Continue along Loch Gare and loch Long to Arrochar and on to Tarbet on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond. Make a stop at the Lomond Shores Complex with a chance to obtain lunch before leaving for Balloch. Here we take a Loch Lomond Cruise, re-join the coach as we continue back over the bridge to the hotel.
Friday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast to bid farewell to our Scottish hosts, begin the return journey home with a suitable lunch stop en-route
