ITINERARY
Sunday
Depart Leyland at 08.00hrs to commence our journey north to Scotland and our overnight stop at the Highlander Hotel in Newtonmore with a suitable lunch stop en-route.
Monday
Check out of our overnight hotel following a leisurely breakfast to continue our journey north, make a stop in Inverness allowing time for lunch and to explore before following part of the scenic NC500 route to Wick with a visit to Laidhay Croft Museum en-route. Arrive in Wick to check in at the Norseman Hotel, our home for the next three nights.
Tuesday
Visit the Queen Mothers beloved Castle of Mey, kept just as it was when she was alive. Wander the gardens and enjoy views over the Pentland Firth, returning for free time in Wick.
Wednesday
Following breakfast travel to John O'Groats to board the ferry over to Orkney where we will meet a local coach for an excursion of the island taking in Skara Brae, the Churchill Barriers, Scapa Flow, Ring of Brodgar, the Italian Chapel and Kirkwall's magnificent cathedral (any admission charges are not included in the tour price).
Thursday
Check out of our hotel following breakfast to travel back through Scotland, taking the scenic route via Grantown-on Spey, Tomintoul, Braemar and Blairgowrie to Perth with a suitable lunch stop en-route. Check in at the historic Salutation Hotel, our home for the next two nights.
Friday
Today is a day of leisure in historic Perth. Perhaps visit striking St John's Kirk or the Black Watch Museum at Balhousie Castle, garden lovers could enjoy National Trust-owned Branklyn Gardens, admissions are not included as today the choice is yours.
Saturday
Following breakfast check out of our hotel as we commence our journey home and bid farewell to Scotland until next time, with a suitable lunch stop en-route.

| About the hotel | The Highlander Hotel is located in the magnificent Cairngorms National Park just 6 miles from the geographical centre of Scotland, a great base for our overnight hotel and to continue our journey to the Far North of Scotland following part of the scenic NC500 route. Guest bedrooms are traditional and comfortable rooms. Although this hotel doesn’t have a lift it does offer ground floor rooms (please request when booking and we will do our upmost to accommodate). This is a low floor hotel; upper floors are accessible by stairs only. |
